MK-ULTRA (1950's CIA mind control warfare...and you)

MK-ULTRA (MKULTRA) was a CIA funded mind-control research operation that began in the early 1950's.

Here is an excerpt from a 1955 MKULTRA document which gives a frightening indication to the scope of their chemical achievements;

Substances, which:

·
-promote illogical thinking and impulsiveness,
to the poiunt where the recipient would be discredited in public.

· -increase the efficiency of mentation and perception.

· -prevent or counteract the intoxicating effects of alcohol.

· -produce signs and symptoms of recognized diseases in a reversible way
so that that may be used for malingering, etc,.

-render the induction of hypnosis easier or otherwise enhance it's usefulness.

· -enhance the ability of individuals to withstand privation,
torture and coercion during interrogation and so called 'brain-washing'.

· -produce amnesia for events preceding and during their use.

· -produce shock and confusion over extended periods
of time and capable of surreptitious use.

· -produce physical disablement such as paralysis of the legs, acute anemia, etc,.

· -produce 'pure' euphoria with no subsequent letdown.

-alter personality structure in such a way that the tendency of the recipient
to become dependent on another person is enhanced.

· will cause mental confusion of such a type that the individual under its influence will find it difficult to maintain a fabrication under questioning.

· -will lower the ambition and general working efficiency of men
when administered in undetectable amounts.

· -promote weakness or distortion of the eyesight or hearing faculties,
preferably without permanent effects.

· pill which can surreptitiously be administered in drinks, food, cigarettes, as an aerosol, etc., which will be safe to use, provide a maximum of amnesia, and be suitable for use by agent types on an ad hoc basis.

· can be surreptitiously administered by the above routes and which in very small amounts will make it impossible for a man to perform any physical activity whatsoever.

Early CIA efforts into researching mind control focused largely on LSD. It was;

Administered 'usually without consent' to; military personnel, doctors, prostitutes, the mentally ill and 'members of the general public' in order to study their reactions.

Voluntary subjects were usually subjected to the more
extreme experiments. In one such case volunteer were
given LSD for 77 days straight.

[Scientific research is a leading cause of cancer in rats.]

Major General Creasy was disapointed when informed that
large-scale testing of potential psychochemical weaponry such as LSD
on US citizens was prohibited:

"I was attempting to put on, with a good cover story....to test to see what would happen in subways, for example, when a cloud was laid down on a city. It was denied on reasons thatalways seemed a little absurd to me."

...of the CIA in the 60's;

"... among themselves to slip LSD into each other's drinks. The target never knew when his turn would come, but as soon as the drug was ingested a ... colleague would tell him so he could make the necessary preparations (which usually meant taking the rest of the day off). Initially the leaders of MK-ULTRA restricted the surprise acid tests to [their own] members, but when this phase had run its course they started dosing other Agency personnel who had never tripped before. Nearly everyone was fair game, and surprise acid trips became something of an occupational hazard among CIA operatives.... The Office of Security felt that [MK-ULTRA] should have exercised better judgment in dealing with such a powerful and dangerous chemical. The straw that broke the camel's back came when a Security informant got wind of a plan by a few [MK-ULTRA] jokers to put LSD in the punch served at the annual CIA Christmas office party ... a Security memo writer... concluded indignantly and unequivocally that he did 'not recommend testing in the Christmas punch bowls usually present at the Christmas office parties.'"
