Zombies are real

Zombie' is actually derived from N'Zambi,
a North African fetish God who is also the father of Voodun.

[A fetish, by definition, isn't sexual or perverse; fet·ish also fet·ich (ftshftsh)
n. 1. An object that is believed to
have magical or spiritual powers, especially such an object associated with animistic or shamanistic religious practices.
2. An object of unreasonably excessive attention or reverence]

An anthropologist named Wade Davis made several trips to

Haiti in the 1970's and through careful scientific investigation discovered that Zombies were, in fact- quite real.

A key subject of his inquiries was Clairvius Narcisse who, in the spring of 1962- died at the Albert Schweitzer hospital in Deschapelles.

18 years later, the man returned to his family; brain damaged and confused- claiming to have been held as a slave…as a Zombie, by the local Voodun priest to whom he was indebted

[as a side note;
It's a CRASH of rhinoceros
and a MURDER of crows.]

Wade Davis was confused.
He checked with the hospital staff and with the friends and family who had attended Clairvius' open casket funeral;
all of whom verified his death, and none who were surprised at the circumstances of his return.

[-as a side note; Japanese kabuki actor Bandō Mitsugorō died of severe poisoning after eating pufferfish sashimi following one of his shows. The liver of the pufferfish is said to be the most poisonous, but Mitsugorō claimed to be immune. The chef, unable to refuse the famous Mitsugorō lost his license as a result.]

Davis eventually spoke with an old man, a civil servant, who had formally practiced as a high Voodun priest in a nearby village. This is what he said;
-that zombification is real.

-that if a man or woman owes a great debt or has committed a great offense- it is not uncommon for the offended party to seek aid from the local practitioner of Voodun magic.

-that Voodun is not magic.

-that during certain times of the year, a local species of pufferfish produces a toxin which, when reduced to a fine white powder- will stop a man's breathing, and reduce his heart-rate to less than 5 beats per minute.

-the powdered poison, which is usually administered as a concentrated paste to the inside of an elbow or the soft part of a neck, will induce a lifeless comatose- which is often mistaken by family and unskilled physicians…as death.

-the Priest will wait as the family buries the man alive,
and then dig him up at night for further treatment at some alternate ;location. Once the priest is away from prying eyes, he makes preparations to awaken the man from his coma.

-the concoction he makes is a cruel one; full of stimulants and powerful hallucinogens which work to horrify the person from his comatose."

-the longer the Voodun priest leaves a victim in the ground, the more damaged that victims brain will become.

-the purpose of the concoction is not only to revive the victim, but to revive him into a terrible, frightening hell-like environment in which the priest is the only real source of authority. Therefore, the more damaged the victims brain is from the comatose- the more effective the drugs will be when the victim is awakened.

[Papa Doc Duvallier, dictator of Haiti from 1957 to 1971, had a private army which was said to consist of zombies, called the Tonton Macoutes. Duvallier was a Master Voodun priest, and they were said to have followed his every command as if in a trance.

After Duvalier's dictatorship, article 249 of the Haitian penal code was amended to read;

"It shall also be qualified as attempted murder the employment which may be

made against any person of substances which, without causing actual death,

produce a lethargic coma more or less prolonged. If, after the person had been

buried, the act shall be considered murder no matter what result follows."
