On "Glog"
In Balkan Folklore (especially Bulgarian, Serbian, and Romani) “professional” demon hunters (vampiric) were called; Glog, Vampirdzhiya, Vampirar, Dzhadazhiya, or Svetochers.
They were usually born on a Saturday (called Sabbatarians, Bulgarian sâbotnichav) or were the offspring of a Vampire and a widow ( and called a dhampir in Romani or a vampirović in Serbian), either served to bestow an innate sensitivity to the presence of supernatural deities (vampiric or otherwise), enabling the Dzhadazhiva ‘hunter’ to defend the well-being of his community from ephemeral and outside aggressors.
The offensive prowess of a Dzhadazhiva far exceeded those established means of destroying a Vampire (burning and staking the corpse., etc)- the hunters were also said to be capable of enticing the invisible creatures with music and then shooting them; or by throwing their scarves or head ware into the waters where the creatures would then drown trying to fetch them out
